Winnie Cooper Prince passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, in Henderson. She was born July 21, 1910, in Washington, Utah, to Florene Averett and Erastmus Cooper, the firstborn of eight children. Winnie recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends. Winnie married Pratt Prince in the St. George LDS Temple June 26, 1928. They had five daughters, Daphane (Tommy) Harless (both deceased), Romaine (Ed) Arnold of Santa Clara, Utah, Florence (Ruben) Wagner of Huntington Beach, Calif., Louise (Tom) Jerdon of Apple Valley, Calif., and Patricia (David) Downer of Henderson. There are 21 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Winnie and Pratt moved to Henderson in 1942 and were very involved in the community and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pratt passed away May 18, 1990. Winnie was a friend to all and a woman without guile. She loved her family and spent her life serving others. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson. Viewing will be from 11 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Sept. 25, with funeral services following, both at the Black Mountain LDS Stake Center, 400 Water St. in Henderson. In lieu of flowers, donations to the LDS Missionary Funds or Perpetual Education Fund would be deeply appreciated.
