MARLENE LOUISE NASON SHAW OCT 26, 1967 - SEP 15, 2010 Our beloved MarMar passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 15th. Marlene was born in Pacoima, Ca to Guy & Patricia Nason and shortly thereafter moved to Modesto. Marlene graduated from Beyer High and Valley Commercial College, where she became certified in Information Systems technology. She went on to become the Information Systems Manager for Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where she worked for most of her adult life. In 1997 Marlene received the greatest joy she would ever have in life, her beautiful daughter Jessica. Marlene had many passions, but none greater than being with her daughter. Among those passions was her love of football and her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, as well as her ability to crush her big brother in fantasy football every year! She also took great pride in spoiling her Nieces and Nephew who all lovingly referred to her as Aunt MarMar. She had an undying devotion to her family & friends that will never be replaced or forgotten. Anyone who was blessed enough to know Marlene will miss her beautiful eyes, her smile & her laugh. Even though she was only here for a short time, she touched so many lives with her loving, caring nature. Marlene is survived by her Daughter, Jessica Shaw, her Mother, Patricia Nason, her Brother, Guy Nason IV (Cyndi), her Sister, June Griffith (Haskell), her Nieces, Patricia LeeAnn Nason, Katie Griffith & Desiree Nason & her Nephew, Guy Nason V. She is also survived by her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & countless friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her Father, Guy T. Nason III. She loved and missed him so very much. May they be together eternally. Funeral services for Marlene will be held at 2 PM on Thurs., Sept. 23rd, at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. F St. in Oakdale. There will also be a visitation on Weds., Sept. 22nd from 4-8 PM. Due to the unexpected nature of her passing, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist with final expenses to June Griffith, 2000 W. Briggsmore Ave., Ste A, Modesto, Ca 95350. www.modbee.com/obituaries
