Leanna Field Driftmier had the longest running radio show in American history: Kitchen Klatter. It ran from 1926 to 1976 on KFNF and KMA (Shenandoah) and later on a variety of syndicated stations. She founded a magazine to go along with the radio broadcasts: Kitchen Klatter. It appealed broadly, but particularly to rural women who wanted to "neighbor" via reading with the woman they heard in their homes nearly everyday, discussing recipes, crafts, family, social activites, et. She also founded a firm to produce cooking aids: spices, extracts, cleaning supplies, etc.
