Milton W. Peck, 88, widely known Wayne Township retired farmer, died Thursday at 6:45 a. m. at his home. He had been ill for six months. Mr. Feck was born near Clarksburg December 6, 1851, a son of John J. and Matilda Hurst Peck. He had lived his entire life in Ross and Pickaway Counties. Mr. Peck's great-grandfather came to Ohio in 1811 from Virginia, settling on Deer Creek. In October 1875, Mr. Peck married Mary Alice Albright, who survives. Of 12 children born to the couple, six survive. They are Professor J. Francis Peck of Gunnison, Colorado; Mrs. Blanche Hirt and Mrs. Audrey Wallace of Cedar Edge, Colorado; Milton C. Peck of Parks, Texas; Ward H. Peck of Wayne Township, and Mrs. Fern Clelland of Chillicothe. There are also two brothers, Barton and Elmer Peck and a sister, Miss Amelia Peck, all of Clarksburg, in addition to 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Peck was a member of the Circleville Odd Fellows lodge for 63 years and was also affiliated with the Improved Order of Red Men. The body was taken to the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, where it will remain until the hour for services, when it will be taken to Brown's Chapel, Ross County, for rites Saturday at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be in the Chapel. August 22, 1940, Circleville, Ohio.
