Mrs. Ellen C. Watson died at 10 o'clock last night in Kansas City, where she had been taken for treatment. Mrs. Watson had been sick with pneumonia for only a few days and her sudden death came as a shock to her friends. Ellen C. Armor was born in Newport, Del., in July, 1847. When a young girl, she moved with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Armor, to Kansas, and settled in Emporia in 1856. During her long residence in Emporia she watched with interest the town's constant growth. About forty years ago she married John S. Watson, and to this union, one daughter, Miss Jo Shipley Watson, was born. Throughout her life, Mrs. Watson was a woman of the home, and her home and family were her constant care and comfort. Besides her husband and daughter, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Armor.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock from the home, and the interment will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.
