husband of Miranda Virginia WARD
Diary of Rev. James Thomas WARD (1820-1897) 28 Jan 1870
Afternoon in preparations for my wife to accompany sister Anne to Baltimore, having received Telegram informing us of the death of my nephew Thomas E. W. Feinour. They left on the 4 o'clock train. Possibly some other members of our family may go down to attend the funeral, but so far as we now see my wife and sister Anne will be the only representatives of the family from Westminster. I presume the remains will be taken to Washington City for interment. My dearest nephew was the elder son of my sister Miranda and Dr. T. Feinour, and was born in Anne Arundel Co. Md. July 14 1842. He was therefore in the 28th year of his age. He had been but a few years married, and leaves an amiable young widow and two infant children, the youngest of whom I baptized during a recent visit to Baltimore. Ltr to my dear sister Miranda, sent by my wife, condoling with her and all the afflicted over on the death of her son.

DEATH OF MR. T. E. W. FEINOUR. - The sad announcement of the death of Mr. Thos. E. W. Feinour, well known to hundreds of our citizens, was made yesterday, and occasioned a feeling of sorrow in the hearts of those with whom a few months ago he was wont to associate.
Mr. Feinour was until about the first of August last the clerk to Major Richards, superintendent of police, and in his official capacity was brought into close contact with the members of the force and citizens generally, who loved him for his warm heart, kindly disposition, and generous nature. Always ready to assist a friend, even at the cost of time and labor, he will be remembered by hundreds of those whom he has favored. To the representatives of the press he was always kind and courteous, and frequently placed them under pleasant obligations. Mr. Feinour was a prominent Odd Fellow here, being a past officer in Metropolis Lodge and Columbia Encampment. His death occurred on Wednesday, at the residence of his father, on Fayette street, Baltimore. His disease was consumption, his age about 26 years. Mr. Feinour was a grandson of the late Rev. Ulysses Ward and a nephew of Samuel Norment, Esq. He leaves a young wife and three children who have the sympathy of the many citizens of this community who loved and respected her husband during his residence among us.
The remains of the deceased will be brought to this city. The funeral will take place from the Metropolitan church on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and will be attended by the various societies of which he was a member.
