Alice J. Manley, 88, of Monroe, Indiana passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at her residence.
She was born on December 11, 1931, in Adams County, Indiana to the late Emery A. Hawkins and the late Flossie L. (Smith) Hawkins. Alice married H. Glen Manley on August 14, 1953, in Oakwood, Ohio and he preceded her in death June 27, 2009.
She attended Decatur Church of God.
Alice, along with her husband, was the owner of Manley Meats, Inc. in Decatur, Indiana.
Alice loved taking her grandkids to church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great grandkids. She enjoyed working at Manley Meats, talking with customers and employees. Family would like to thank Family LifeCare of Berne for loving and taking care of our mother.
She is survived by a son, David L. Manley of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Marilyn (Mike) Geyer of Monroe, Indiana; son, Roger D. (Marla) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, Ron E. (Mary) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, Steve G. (Lori) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband H. Glen Manley; one son Larry W. Manley; one grandson, Justin Manley; four brothers, Ralph, Bill, Phillip (in infancy) and Paul Hawkins.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Decatur Church of God with Pastor Gilbert Romero and Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Tricker Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2020, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at Decatur Church of God on Tuesday.
Due to public concerns of safety, we request family and visitors practice social distancing and the wearing of masks.
