Great Bend Tribune 6-5-1961 Memorial services in tribute to the past District Judge, the late Roy J McMullen, of Great Bend, will be held in the court room of the Barton County Court House tomorrow morning at 10. McMullen died Oct 14, 1960.
The June term of court opens tomorrow morning and all members of the Barton County Bar are urged to be in attendance for the memorial.
The Barton County Bar members were invited by the Rice County Bar to Attend services today in honor of Harold Gibson, Lyons attorney who passed away recently. The memorial services were held in the Court Room at the Lyons Court House.

Services for Roy J McMullen, 72, 72, be Monday at 2 pm from the United Presbyterian church with the Rev Davis B Cecil officiating and burial in Great Bend cemetery with Masonic graveside rite. Honorary pallbearers will be member of Barton, Rice, and Stafford County bar associations.
The body will remain at Cook and Weber chapel until 1` pm Tuesday.
McMullen served as district judge of the 20th judicial district for 12 years. He was succeed by Frederick Woleslagel of Lyons in 1959.
McMullen died Friday at St Rose hospital after a short illness. He was born in Stafford County and was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Barton County Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association and all bodies of the Masonic lodge York rite. He also belonged to the Elks, order of Eastern Star, Eagles lodge, the American Legion and was a veteran of World War I. He was a graduate of Kansas University.
McMullen is survived by the widow, E. Mayrian McMullen of the home, 2432 Zarah Dr.; a brother Robert H., Stockton, Calif., 529 sisters Mrs Hazel Beattie, Hutchinson and Mariam McMullen of Great Bend.
