HOWELL RITES TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY
The funeral service for Mrs. Mary E.(Mame) Howell, 68, 306 Jefferson Street, has been scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday at the St. Paul Episcopal Church, with Rev. Hal R. Gross officiating. Internment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell, who died in the Oregon City Hospital Saturday following a short illness, was born November 3, 1886 at Canemah and had spent her entire lifetime in Oregon City area. She married William B. Howell in St. Paul's Church, November 22, 1913.
Mrs. Howell was the president of the Oregon City library board and had served as a board member for many years prior to that. She was a member of the St. Paul's Church and all of its organizations, was a great lover of flowers and was active in many civic organizations.
Survivors include the widower at home; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon H. (Betty) Barrows, New York City, who arrived a short while after her mother had died; two brothers, Elbon H. (Nine) Long, Ocean Lake; Gilbert E. (Pete) Long, Portland; and a sister, Mrs. Beryl Cole, also of Ocean Lake.
