From the New Holland Clarion, September 13, 1902:

"Adam Newton Diller, a well-known resident of East Earl township died at his home, near Greenbank, on Sunday morning at 7:15 o'clock, aged fifty-three years, two months and twenty-nine days. Deceased had been failing in health for about a year suffering from Bright's disease of the kidneys. In June he was quite ill for several weeks but rallied again and was able to move about until a week before his death. He was in this borough for the last time on Saturday, the 2d inst. On Monday following he fell into a comatose condition in which he remained until death came. Mr. Diller was a farmer by occupation and was a very estimable citizen. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, of this borough. He was a son of the late Nathaniel Diller, who resided south of town for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mary, who was a daughter of the late Eli Newswanger, and five children: Ann, Mary, Luther, Bertie and Mabel, all at home. Mrs. Israel Bair, of this borough, is an only sister, and Samuel Diller and Mrs. Edward Detterline, both of Terre Hill, are surviving step-brother and step-sister. The funeral of the deceased was held on Wednesday morning and was attended by a very large number of relatives and friends of the family. Services were held at the house and also in Trinity Lutheran church, this borough, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. Steinhaueuser, N. C. Henninger, undertaker, had charge of the funeral."
