Durwood J. (Knocker) Bargeron, 40, died Sunday morning at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Tattnall County and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Latricia Bargeron of Augusta; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Dixon of Reidsville; three sisters, Mrs. Horace Dixon of Reidsville, Mrs Lillian Fulkerson of Columbus, Ga., and Mrs. Diane Duffany of Reidsville; five brothers, Denver Bargeron of Dover, Fla., Adrian Bargeron of Columbia, Ga., Donnett Bargeron and Claudie Dixon both of Glennville and J.W. Dixon of Savannah, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Moody Roberts and Rev. Jessie Browning.
Interment was in Watermelon Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Doug Dixon, Bobby Ray, Jimmy Todd, Robert Dubberly, Dean Cranford, and Windell DeLoach.

Waters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

**Note..Knocker was raised by his sister Eudell and her husband Horace Dixon.
