Cornelius York "Cy" Bennett, 85, a WWII Navy veteran, died June 1, 2007. His wife, Emma "Jean" Bennett, 83, died Sept. 22, 2007. They were married on Nov. 16, 1948.

Survivors include daughters, Karan (Luke) Eulenfield of Texas and Linda Bennett of California; three grandsons and three great-granddaughters; Cy's brother, Donald (Phyllis), and sister, Ardith (Neil) Tappen; Jean's sister, Doris Balos, and brother, David (Louise) Grieger.

A memorial was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
