Mrs. Dora Horstman was born March 30, 1884, near Great Bend, Kansas. She was united in marriage with William F. Horstman on August 29, 1910, at Lockwood, Dade Co., Missouri. They established residence in Kansas City, Missouri in 1927, and became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 42nd and Tracy. The church then was located at 16th and Cherry Streets. She was an active member of the Dorcas Society and the Lutheran Mission Auxiliary.
She suffered a severe heart attack and was taken to the hospital where she passed away early the next morning, October 12, 1962.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 28, 1956, and her oldest son, William Charles Horstman, on September 16, 1958.
Surviving is one son, Cordes W. Horstman; also three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Petry, Mrs. Clara Harre, and Mrs. Tillie Wegner, all of the Greater Kansas City area; two brothers, William C. Haunschild of Braman, Kay Co., Oklahoma, and R.L. Haunschild of Lockwood, Dade Co., Missouri; and seven grandchildren.
