Fremont.
Mrs. Mary Hughes, wife of Tom Hughes is very sick. She had the malarial fever and got around for about three weeks when she took a relapse. Her chances for recovery are doubtful.

Fremont.
Mrs. Mary Hughes, wife of Tom Hughes, died at her late home in this neighborhood Monday. She was buried at Maplewood cemetery Tuesday afternoon. The family had resided in this community for many years and is respected by everybody. The deceased was honored and esteemed by a large circle of friends. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her death, which is to them an irreparable loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hughes, of Emporia. A large concourse of sympathizing friends followed the remains to their final resting place. There were many beautiful floral offerings.
