Von Merrill dies at 68; rites slated.
Von Merrill of 558 Main Ave. died Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Clinton County Hospital at the age of 68. He had been ill for seven months.
Mr. Merrill was a native of Pickard, born April 6, 1899 to Andrew J. and Grace Cunningham Merrill. He married the former Geneva McKinsey on March 8, 1919, and the two lived in Frankfort throughout their married life.
For 20 year he was employed by the Frankfort Water Works. He also worked for the Wabash Life Insurance Co. and for the past four years at Mac's Drive-in.
He was a member of the First EUB Church of Frankfort and an active member of the Willing Workers Class.
In adddition to his widow, Mr. Merrill is survived by Richard McKinsie of Lakeland, Fl. whom the Merrill's raised; three sisters; Mrs. Mae King of Detroit, Mrs. Beulah White of Lafayette and Mrs. Grace Warden of Kokomo; and five brothers; Carl and Charles Merrill of Frankfort, John Merrill of Sidney, N.Y. Wilson Merrill of Miami, Fla. and Harry Merrill of Gardenia, Ca.
Two brothers George and Paul preceeded him in death.
Services will be held at the First EUB Church Thursday at 1:30 p.m., the Revs. D. E. Littler and William Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 2 p.m. Wednesday. There will also be calling hours at the funeral home until noon Thursday, and after that the body will lie in state at the church until the time of the services.
