Wilmon D. Burks,
Ex-Blacksmith

Wilmon D. Burks, 60, of 1109 E. 13th, died at 10:20 a.m. today in a local hospital. He had been critically ill since September, 1967.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Eleventh and Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, with T. Lloyd Cannon, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery, under the direction of the Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home.
He was born May 12, 1908, in Big Spring. He had been a blacksmith in the Fairview community for many years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Burks; two sons, Leonard Elbert Burks, Big Spring, and Charles S. Burks, Lubbock; one daughter, Mrs. Nadine Burt, Talihina, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jeanine Fletcher and Mrs. Jane Overman, both of Big Spring; one stepson, Don Osborne, Big Spring; one brother, L. E. Burks, Big Spring; two sisters, Mrs. M. O. Pate, Shallowater, and Mrs. W. R. Fowler, Fort Worth; six grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.

Services for Wilmon D. Burks, 60, who died Wednesday in a local hospital, were to be held today at 4 p.m. at the Eleventh and Birdwell Lane Church of Christ. Burial will be in the City Cemetery, under the direction of the Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, one daughter, two stepdaughters, one stepson, one brother, two sisters, six grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Walker Reed, Leonard Smith, Ira Dement, Don Rasberry, Royce Johnson and Opal Laws.
