son of Isaac Sawyer and Susannah Gillet/Gillette

a brother-in-law of Hon. Paul Brigham, came to Norwich about 1788, and located upon the place now occupied by Capt. HOWARD. He also was a veteran of the Revolution. He was married to five wives during his life, all of whom are buried in the cemetery at Beaver Meadow, reared a family of twelve children and died in 1838, aged eighty-two years.
