Edythe "Edie" was one of nine children born of James and Julia Agnes Goodwillie Laughrey. The family was wealthy and all the children were very talented. They allowed them to paint the front sitting room and to this day there are still painting and writing on the basement walls. Edythe was very artistic. She was a free spirit who loved to take off and visit people. Very social. She met Charles "Eddie" Anderson and hadn't known him long when and when they visited her oldest sister Glad, she and her husband thought they got along so great, why don't the just marry? So they did! New Year's Eve of 1929 in New Brighton PA. She had only one son, William Edward Anderson. She loved to play golf with her husband and was in the Country Club scene. She belonged to the DAR (DAR hero Henry Oberholtzer)and the Order of the Eastern Star. She always dressed very well. She also liked to sew and would make matching outfits for all her grandchildren. She was also a chain smoker and everything smelled like Marlborough cigarettes. Even the clothes she sent to her grandchildren in CA. They had a parakeet named Harris that flew around the house, talked and even swam in your cereal. She is also a Mayflower Descendant of Stephen Hopkins.
