Belton -- Ruth Phillips, 85 of Belton died Monday,
September 8, in a Belton nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heartfield
Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. John Roark
officiating. Burial will be in North Belton Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Salado to Murry M. and
Sallie Wiseman Wyatt. She was raised in Key's Valley
and went to school there. She married Alfred Phillips
in Belton on September 17, 1932. She was a member of
First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 12,
1994; a son, Wesley Phillips, in 1959; and a daughter,
Nelda J. Bartek, in 2001.
Survivors are a son, Edd Phillips of Temple; four
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one
great-great- grandchild.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Heartfield
Funeral Home in Belton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a
childrens charity.
