Frank Gunther imigrated to the United States prior to the Civil War. He was a farmer's hand in Va, where he met Sarah Scruggs. They had 7 children: Edward,Francis,William,George,and Emma. Carl & Lilly died as infants. In Leavenworth, Frank was a Carriage Maker. I decend from William. Edward & Francis moved west to Soldier,KS. George moved to Chicago area, actually to Columbus WI. Aunt Emma never married but lived with brother William in Leavenworth.May 30 1895 Leavenworth Times
