Our loving husband, daddy, son and brother, James Forrest "Jim" Boswell, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 25, 2010. James was born July 26, 1947 to Chester and Margaret Boswell. He attended Eliza Jane Wilson Elementary, A.V. Clubbs Junior High and Pensacola High School. He was a member of the P.H.S. graduating class of 1965. He joined the United States Army in October of 1967. He counted it a privilege to have been able to serve his country and to serve as pianist for the base at Fort Hood, Texas. After his military service, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a carrier, worked in the mailroom, was philatelic clerk and most recently served as a window clerk at Jordan Street and Downtown Station. His customers will remember him for his kind and jolly spirit. He retired January 1, 2007. Jim was a member of Bellview Baptist Church and had served as church pianist in several area churches. He was also a Brother in Escambia Lodge 15 and a Hadji Shriner. James was preceded in death by his dad, Chester William Boswell. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, four children, a daughter in law and a son in law, his mother, Margaret Boswell; a brother, a nephew and his wife, an aunt, father and mother-in-law, and a host of cousins and many wonderful friends. Next to God and his family, the two greatest loves in his life were Southern Gospel Music and Alabama football. Jim was the pianist for the Workman Quartet for about 25 years. He has blessed folks all over the southeast with his talent as he traveled with the Workman. The quartet was like a second family to him and he dearly loved each member. When he wasn't busy traveling with the quartet, his Saturday's, in the fall, were spent watching Alabama Football. Clad in Crimson and White, from head to toe, he faithfully supported the "Tide". And to close with the words he would always part with… "ROLL TIDE"
