Dale was the youngest of three boys born to Forrest Ray Bausch & Harriet Almeda (Miller) Bausch. He moved with his parents from Nebraska to Monrovia, CA around 1945, where he attended Monrovia schools through the 10th grade.

At age 15, he went to work as a machine operator for Meyer Plastics in Los Angeles, advancing to second shift foreman by 1959 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was assigned to the Combat Support Co, 1st Battle Group, 8th Infantry at Fort Lewis, WA on March 23, 1959, where he obtained his High School Diploma & was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged from active duty on March 4, 1961 & he went back to work as second shift foreman for Meyer Plastics.

He married Judith Nadine Burkhart on August 11, 1962 & they moved, with Judy's 2-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, to Azusa, CA. He left Meyer Plastics in 1963 & went to work for Amoco Plastics as a Set-up Man. He worked during the day & took college courses at night. In 1965, his first daughter was born, in 1967, his first son & in 1969, another daughter. The family was living in La Mirada, CA & Dale had been promoted to Maintenance Foreman, running 6 different shops in the plant. In 1974, he & Judy were divorced.

After a brief stay with their mother, his 3 children came to live with him & he married his second wife on December 6, 1975. Soon after that, the family moved to Cypress, CA & in 1977 his second son was born. Still working for Amoco, he was promoted to Plant Engineer in 1978. He held the position until 1983, when economic conditions caused the company to reduce management staff & he was laid off. He & his second wife separated a few years later & were divorced in 1991.

He held management positions at the plants of two other plastics manufacturers between 1983 & 1988. In 1989, he & a partner opened their own shop in Anaheim, CA, but they went out of business in 1991. Later that same year, he & a new partner opened a shop in Las Vegas, NV. It did well, but economic conditions caused the close of that business in 2000.

He came back to California & lived in the Inland Empire, working as a Plant Manager until 2004, then on & off for a business associate until he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. At first he fought the disease, undergoing chemotherapy & radiation treatments simultaneously. But, he swore the treatment was worse than the cure & after a brief period of remission, the cancer was back. He refused further treatment & his condition deteriorated. His last few days were spent in bed with at least one of his children always at his side. His oldest son was with him when he passed.

He was dependable, responsible, honest, a good provider & role model & a great dad. Always kind & willing to help, a man the world was a better place for knowing. He truly will be missed.

He is survived by five children, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren & two older brothers.

Burial at Riverside National Cemetery on Monday, 10/18/2010.
