James Leo Arnold, 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.
Born in Reading on May 19, 1920, he was a son of the late Leo H. Arnold and Mary B. Cooney.
He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1939.
He was employed at Arnold's Book Bindery for 45 years, retiring as president in 1985.
He was also a member of the Pocono Beagle Club, Trout Unlimited, The Berks Fly Tyers Club and St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Christine, his wife of 64 years.
Surviving are his two daughters, Patricia Arnold LaManna and Christine Arnold Allen.
He was a proud and loving grandfather and is survived by his grandchildren: Jessica LaManna, Stephanie Herbein, Blake Allen and Christine Allen; and his great-grandchildren, Chase and Charlotte.
He and his family are grateful for the loving care given to him by our friend, Lillian Russell.
He was an influential figure in the lives of many and he will be missed every day.
His viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 1, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Catherine's Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606.
Following his burial in Getheseme Cemetery, a luncheon will be served at his home to celebrate his life.
