w/o David Gordon Gault
Obituary provided by Joel Farringer.
=============================================
Born at a Pflugerville farm on July 12, 1912, Ila Mae lived a few months shy of 99 years when she passed away on January 11, 2011. Her adult life was based on two basic principles: an enduring faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and an unwavering commitment to her family. "Nana", as she was lovingly called, quietly set an example for family members to follow.
Ila Mae was preceded in death by her mother, Leora Bratton Turner; three brothers, Leroy, Robert, and Vernon Turner; her husband, David Gordon Gault; and her son, David Wayne Gault. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Walker Geye; daughters, Billie Joyce and husband Roy Vaughan and Nancy Gail and husband Bobby Mayes; daughter-in-law, Jane Ward Gault; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She also considered her beloved friends, the late Leonard Sauls and wife Ella Faye and Shirley Loggin, as her "family."
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Heatherwilde Assisted Living in Pflugerville, and those at Fairway Vista in Round Rock, for their kindness and care and to Lighthouse Hospice for their assistance.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, 12062 North Lamar Blvd., Austin. Interment will follow at Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church after the interment.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her memory to Walnut Creek Baptist Church or a favorite charity would be most appreciated.
