William E. "Gene" Wickham, 73, Olney, died Saturday Aug. 29, 1987, at Regency Place in Greenwood, Ind.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Zirkle Funeral Home, Olney, Pastor James Gibson presiding. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1987, at the funeral home.

Mr. Wickham was born Aug. 24, 1914, in West Liberty, the son of Alvin and Minnie (Tipton) Wickham.

He married Helen L. Musgrove Aug. 9, 1941, in DeRidder, La. She preceded him in death April 11, 1986.

He was a rural mail carrier for 29 years before retiring in 1985.

He was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church, Olney, a member of Olney Memorial Post 4226, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Richland Post 63, Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Wickham is survived by two sons, Richard of Taylorville and Randy of Mooresville, Ind.; three brothers, Martin of Ypsilanti, Mich., Arthur of Louisville, Ky., and Willard of Cisne; two sisters, Mrs. Corda Mae Gardner of Clay City and Mrs. Peg Broom of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Mr. Wickham was preceded in death by a son, a grandson and his parents.
