She was born July 22, 1913, in Coryell County, Texas. She moved to Lubbock in 1920 and married Thomas Wayland Potts on March 5, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1989. Burma and her late husband established The Ceramic Barn in Lubbock. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lubbock Homebound Ministry. She was also a 50-year member of Lubbock Chapter 76 Order of the Eastern Star.
Burma leaves behind numerous friends and family who will miss her dearly. She was a homemaker and beloved mother of two children, a daughter, Sue and husband Terry Hayes, and a son, Tommy Potts, all of Lubbock; three sisters, Leta Burleson, Laverne Powell and Mary Lou Hobgood, all of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Teri Jo and husband Kerry Gilmore, and Michael and wife Debra Hayes, all of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
