I remember "Grandma Peefee"when growing up in the 50s and 60s. She was a very short lady and spoke softly in broken English, as Spanish was here primary language.

She was the Mother of a very large family, as attested by the 1920 Census, NM, Precinct 11 (Tiptonville), Page 5. (See below).

I do remember that she was a great cook, had a subdued sense of humour and loved all of us kids as if they were her own.

Our family lore mentions that she was of Native American heritage. The search continues to support this story.
