The Huntsville Times, Friday, October 7, 1966. Fayetteville, Tenn. John Wiley Ashby, 69, farmer of the Booneville community, died at his residence Tuesday night. A funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant Funeral Home with Thomas Orr officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery. He was a native of Franklin County, Tenn., and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Young Ashby; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Campbell of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Mrs. Martha Creson of Shelbyville Tenn.; three sons, J. D. Ashby of Hialeah, Fla., and W. C. Ashby of Moorehaven, Fla., and Robert Houston Ashby of Nashville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Brown of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Mrs. Ramon Thacker of Great Falls, S. C.; three brothers, Arthur Ashby of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Hulling Ashby and Merle Ashby of Fayetteville, Tenn.
