He was a retired home builder and housing inspector for the Veterans Administration, an Air Force veteran, an avid sportsman and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lula (Masters) Gardner and his wife of 57 years, Ann (Parks) Gardner. He is survived by his children; grandchildren; and two sisters; Virginia Oakes (Donald) and Eleanor Harris. Chapel service is 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Chapel of The Lord Is My Shepherd Mausoleum. Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown is in charge of arrangements.
