Mr. Thomas Harvey Snider of Ravenswood was born Oct. 4, 1857 at Middlebourne, Tyler county, departed this life April 14, 1937, age 79 years, 6 months and 20 days. He came to Jackson county in 1900 and has been a citizen of this county since then. He was united in marriage with Sophia Barens, Sept 24, 1882. To this union was born eight children, four of whom died while quite young, and four sons still living, W. D. Snider of Reedy, W. Va., George, Lewis and Ellis Snider, all of Ravenswood. Surviving are his widow, Sophia Snider of Ravenswood; one brother, Dan Snider of Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Harris of Pine Grove, W. Va., four grandchildren and a host of other relatives. He had four brothers and four sisters who preceded him in death. The deceased has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since the early age of eleven years and continued active in church work until his death.
