Obituary from the Henderson Daily News, Dec. 27, 2010:

Funeral services for Clara Nicely, 102, of Tatum, Texas will be held at 11am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Crawford- A. Crim Funeral Home with Dennis Smith and Matt Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Tatum Cemetery under the direction of Crawford- A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.

Mrs. Nicely died December 25, 2010 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. She was born October 17, 1908 in Dallas County and lived most of her life in Tatum. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tatum and was a homemaker as well as the first librarian at Tatum ISD. The family would like to thank Eastman Retirement Home and Heartsway Hospice.

She was preceded in death by: Irene Turlington, Clifton Goad, Katie Kuykendall, Harry Goad, and Verlin Nicely.

Survivors include, daughter, Shirley Crawford and husband Rosser of Tatum; grandson, Matt Crawford and wife Holly of Tatum; and great-grandchildren, Caleb and Lilly Crawford.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Reed, Don Hyatt, Dennis Hyatt, Larry Hamm, Jerry Cloud, and Robert Kuykendall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
