NED K. DAVIS, 74, of Millington, retired minister and civil service worker at Millington Naval Base, died of complications of Alzheimer disease Tuesday at Shelby Pines Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Northridge/Woodhaven Chapel with burial in Northridge/Woodhaven Cemetery. He was a member of Millington First Baptist Church, Woodlawn Masonic Lodge and was a World War II and Korean War veteran. Mr. Davis, the husband of Christine Whitlock Davis for 53 years, also leaves four daughters, Diane Davis Bechtel of Bartlett, Delores Davis Brock of Atlanta, and Darlene Davis Stevens and Denise Davis Sutherland, both of Millington; a son, Daniel Kidd Davis of Millington; a sister, Jane Stowe of Searcy, Ark.; four brothers, Ed Davis of Lucy, Tenn., Bill Davis of Cordova, Tom Davis of Memphis and Jim Davis of Atoka, 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Millington First Baptist Church Vision 2000 Building Fund. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 1/20/2000)
