Nannie was the daughter of Harvey K. Jr. and Matilda Rebecca (Hunt) Carter. She married W.W. Cary on November 18, 1884, in Edna. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her son, Walter Edwin Cary, who was killed in an explosion at the Co-Op Refinery in Coffeyville on April 22, 1944. Survivors include her children, William Cary, Charles Cary, Mattie Fry, and Laura Walts, her siblings, Hattie Donnelly, Della Kinzie, and H.A. Carter, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Edna Baptist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
