Thomas Ogden was born in 1720 and died testate 23 December 1785 aged 65 years, in said Fairfield Township,and was buried in the new Presbyterian "Old Stone" Churchyard near Fairton with a gravestone marker.
Sarah Harris, daughter of Thomas and Anna Harris, married Thomas as his first wife in 1743. They had two children:
1. Thomas Ogden, Jr. (b 1743, d. intestate 10JAN1768 aged 25 years. He married Abigail Dare in 1761.
2. Sarah Ogden, who maried her 1st cousin Samuel Ogden.
Thomas married secondly, by NJ license on 06AUG1760 to Violetta (Lorance) Harris, the widow of his first wife's nephew, Thomas Harris Jr. She died 09NOV1760 aged 25 years. He married thirdly, by license on 21MAR1761 to Sarah Westcott of Fairfield Township. Sarah ws apparently the widow of Henry Westcott who died testate on 20FEB1760, aged 40 years. Thomas Ogden's fourth wife Sarah (Austin) Stratton, was born 26JUL1730, the daughter of Cornelius and Martha (Soulard) Austin of Fairfield , died testate 01NOV1804, aged 74 years and was buried in said "Old Stone" Churchyard with a gravestone marked "wife of Thomas Ogden. She was first married to Benjamin Stratton, son of Benjamin and Abigail (Preston) Stratton of Fairfield Township. He died 26MAR1759 in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County and was buried with a gravestone marker in the Presbyterian Churchyard there.
Thomas and Sarah (Austin Stratton) Ogden had three children:
3. Benjamin Stratton Ogden (b. 08AUG1767; d. 05FEB1849 in Cleves, Hamilton Co., OH. He married Nancy Preston in 1768, who died 27MAY1847)
4. Thomas Ogden (2nd) (b. 1768; d. 10AUG1842), aged 74 yrs; married Ruth Newcomb in Ohio. dau of Bayse and Hannah (Bower) Newcomb of Fairfield Township, Cumberland Co.
5. Ruth Ogden (b. 04MAY1771; d. 01SEP1851), married 12JUL1786 her 1st cousin James Ogden as his 2nd wife and had issue.
