Ruford Fowler was born in Jackson County Ky, on March 19, 1889 to Carter L. and Sallie (Sarah) Durbin Fowler. He was the youngest boy of 9 children. He and Claudie Lynch, also from Jackson County had one son together although they never married. That son was Mendle Fowler, born May 18, 1913(my Great Grandfather). Ruford married Bertha Richardson in about 1929 and they had one child Ernest. After a divorce, he then married Annie Wolfenbarger and together had Carter Gene, Estill Lee, John, Sherman, Lester, Chester, Snowy Mae, and Earl. They lived together in Jackson County until his death from Tuberculosis in 1947.
