Susie M. (Adams) Frederick, 101, long time Clyde Park ara resident died Sunday evening, April 18, 1993
at the Gallatin County Rest Home in Bozeman. Funeral services will be held at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1993 at the Franzen-Davis-Bebee Chapel in
in Livingston. Rev. Bill Kliber of the Shields Valley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clyde Park Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 29, 1891 in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of Aaron and Amanda Adams. When she was 3 years old she came with her familyto the Shields Valley of Montana and attended rural schools in Park County. On Dec. 26, 1911 she married William A. "Billy" Frederick in Livingston. He died Oct. 27, 1927 and Susie worked hard to raise her seven children during the Great Depression. She had cooked
on many different ranches during haying, lambing and threshing seasons and had worked as the janitor for the Clyde Park Methodist Church for manny years.
She was a member of the Shields Valley United Methodist Church (formerly the Clyde Park U.M.C.); the Clyde Park Women's Society and the Hobby Club. One of the oldest and most interesting ladies in the area, Susie had made the Shields Valley her home for 97 years. She is remembered for her fresh baked sugar cookies and her beautiful flowers, which were her joy in life. She was also an accomplished quilter.
Survivors include two sons, William A. Frederick of Helena and Lester Frederick of Clyde Park; three daughters, Grace Mongar of Bozeman and Elsie Logan and Irene Kirscher, both of Clyde Park; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Thelma Terry and Mamie Spieth.
