Mrs. Jens Asmussen Dies in St. Peter, Minn. Former Remsen Woman Succumbs to
Brief Illness Today. Word was received today of the death of Mrs. Jens
Asmussen, 85, former Remsen woman who passed away in the home of her son,
William, at St. Peter, Minn.
The body will be brought to Remsen Frida and will be at the Fisch funeral
home until time of the funeral Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with
services in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. Paul Wuebben to
conduct the services.
Services will be held in the funeral home at two o'clock.
Born June 1, 1866 in Germany, she was the daughter of Jacob and Louise
Andresen and came to this country at an early age. She married Jens Asmussen
and the couple lived here more than 50 years until joining their son and
daughter-in-law in St. Peter last October.
The lone survivor in the immediate family is William, a police officer in
St. Peter many years. Their only daughter, Dora, passed away in Sioux City

Mrs. Jens Asmussen Rites Here Saturday
Funeral services were held here Saturday for Mrs. Jens Asmussen, 85, former Remsen woman who passed away June 14 in the home of her son William, at St. Peter, Minn.
Although in slightly failing health for a long time, Mrs. Asmussen had not been in serious condition until a week before the end came.
She was born Anna Andresen, daughter of Jacob and Louise Andresen, at Gelving, Germany, June 1, 1866, and came to this country at an early age, settling in LeMars where she married Jens Asmussen. The couple lived in Remsen more than 50 years and because of ill health joined their son and daughter-in-law in St. Peter last October.
Fisch funeral home here had charge of funeral arrangements after arrival of the body Friday Services, conducted by the Rev. Paul Wuebben, were held at the Fisch home and later in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church and burial in the Remsen cemetery.
Survivors include the widower, who will be 90 years old July 4; the son, William, of St. Peter, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceding here in death were a daughter in infancy and Dora, who died in Sioux City three years ago.
Pallbearers were A.D. Ohlendorf, M.H. Niggeling, Clifford Dorr, James Muller, Paul Nitzschke and Charles Barthole.
