He was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Continental to Jesse and Iona Gettys Kosch, who preceded him in death. On July 22, 1950, he married Luella Carnahan, who survives in Continental.
Mr. Kosch had worked at Taylor Roofing, Zeller Corp., Continental High School and Homier & Sons. He retired as a boiler operator from Philips Display Components, Ottawa, after 18 years. Following his retirement, he was a driver for Deluxe Dry Cleaners. He attended Continental High School. He attended Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont, and was a member of North Creek United Methodist Church, North Creek. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a lifelong fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He will be sadly missed by his children and was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of whom he was proud of each one.
Survivors also include six children, Ken (Betty) Kosch, of Ottawa, Mike (Marge) Kosch, of North Creek, Walt (Jan) Kosch, of Oakwood, Jeff (Shelly) Kosch, of Dupont, and Gloria (Carroll) Brown and Brian (Karen) Kosch, both of Continental; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Kosch, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mary Radabaugh, of Fostoria, and Viva Arrington, of Findlay; and two sisters-in-law, Joy Parsons, of Carroll, and Pauline Kosch, of Continental.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Leonard, Harold and Franklin Kosch; two sisters, Helen Bott and Gerry Fowler; four brothers-in-law, Mark Bott, Jack Radabaugh, Dick Arrington and Louis Fowler; a sister-in-law, Murial Kosch; and a granddaughter, Wesley Jo Kosch.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont. The Rev. Terry Porter will officiate. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
