She was a bookkeeper for the Neodesha Ford Agency for many years, first working for her father when he operate the dealership and continuing with subsequent owners. In 1968, she became the librarian at the W.A. Rankin Memorial Library. She held that position for ten years, retiring in December, 1978.

She was a member of the Neodesha Christian Science Church, D.A.R., Wilson County Historical Society, B.P.W., the Norman #1 Museum Board, Sugar & Spice, Friday Book Club, and the Genealogical Society.
