Daughter of Henry Lee Jarboe, Jr and Pearl Anna Haight, Lillian was born in Chickasha, Indian Territory, before Oklahoma became a state later that year.
Her parents moved to Kansas City (523 W. 38th Street) when she was very young and then on to 3714 Madison, where she spent most of her upbringing. She was a sister to Thomas Wade Jarboe, Lee Haight Jarboe, Henry Lee Jarboe III and Louise Jarboe (Everley).
She married Gilbert Winterbower Nichols on Sept. 7, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. They had three children: Nancy Louise Nichols Auld, Richard Lee Nichols and Robert Eugene Nichols. After Gilbert died in 1960, she married Edwin P. Klausen in 1965. He passed away in 1975.
