Betty Nelson, 70, of Ottertail, died on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at the Perham Memorial Hospital.
Betty Jean Peterson was born in Milbank, S.D., on Sept. 17, 1936, the daughter of Eddie and Esther (Algren) Peterson. She moved with her family to Henning in 1946 from Sioux Falls. She was married to Donovan Krause on Jan. 1,1954, in Bertha. They lived in Richfield and became the parents of two children, Kevin Charles Krause and Julie Lynn Krause.
Betty worked as a hospital housekeeper at Fairview Southdale Hospital in suburban Minneapolis. She was married to James August Nelson on May 26, 1974, in Minneapolis. Betty is survived by a son: Kevin, Ottertail, and his children: Jesse Donovan and Katlin O'Brien Krause; a sister, Helen Grabow, Henning, Brother, Duane (Marlene) Peterson, Henning; sister-in-law, Dolores Peterson, Henning; a brother-in-law, Art Christenson, of Henning; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Julie; her parents; a brother: LuVerne; a sister: Gladys; and a nephew: Mike P.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
