Calif. census lists him in 1850 located in Placerville El Dorado, with Wm.E.Bean (Tolbert Bean, Wm's brother had died in Nevada); and with his Brewer sons, John, Thomas, & Oliver. He served in (CSA) Co C, Cherokee regiment, Civil War. An outstanding educator, he was Superintendent of Education for the Cherokee Nation, and Pres. of the Cherokee Brd. of Educ.; he served on the Supreme Court, Cherokee Nation. Son of John C. & Elizabeth [Taylor] Brewer.
