Uncle Woodford was the son of Matilda Jane "Tilda" Epperson and Caswell D. "Cas" Mrton, fron Bowen, Powell County, Kentucky.

Woodford was the 2nd child out of ten children born to Matilda and Caswell. Alvin A. Morton was the first born.
Delbert Morton was born 3rd. Mattie Clay and Hattie M. Morton, the twin daughters, were born 4th & 5th. Eugene Mrton was born 6th. Harry Bernard Morton was the 7th born out of ten. Venard Morton was 8th born. Mildred was born 9th out of ten and Elsworth S. Morton was the youngest child born to Matilda and Caswell.

Woodford married Verna "Vernie" Mitchell in 1938. She was the daughter of Florence Banks and Franklin David "Frank D." Mitchell of Clay County, Kentucky.

Aunt Verna and Woodford had seven children: Juanita M., Venice Sue, Woodford "Harry" II, Mendel D., Audrey Sue "Audra", Glenda G., and Ray "Poke Belly" Morton.
