Dale LeRoy Owens, 83, of Topeka passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 at Manor Care in Topeka. He was born July 10, 1927, in Soldier, Kansas, the son of David A. and Mary M. (Drage) Owens. Dale graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1945. He later served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Seymour Foods, retiring as a Service Training Manager. He was married to Jean Carson on December 27, 1991. Dale is survived by his wife Jean Owens of their home; nieces, Maxine Merritt and Ed of Topeka, Carol Butler and Ron of Topeka; Patty Eikenberry and Dean of St. Joseph, MO and Lynda Trosclair and Claude of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, along with several great and great great nieces and nephews. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary; brother, Russell Shorty Owens; sisters, Ethel Luellen and Edith Flick and nephews, Bob and Larry Luellen.
