NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Robert Moore "Bob" Anderson, 85, Noblesville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Sheridan Healthcare Center in Sheridan following an extended illness.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1924, in Hamilton County, Indiana, to Leon and Marie (Moore) Anderson. He attended Durbin Elementary and Lapel High School.

Bob was a lifelong farmer in Wayne Township. He loved animals especially his dogs. He raised several orphaned raccoons, squirrels, skunks, chipmunks, and a fox. Also, any baby animals that needed to be raised with a bottle: pigs, calves, lambs, and a special goat, "Baby Deer." His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling and spending time at his pond.

He was a founding member of the Wayne Township Fire Department; was also a member of the Lapel Lions Club; a 50-year member of the former Clarksville Masonic Lodge; and he enjoyed his monthly euchre games with friends for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, . . . three children, . . . of Troutville, Va., . . . of Lake Placid, Fla., and . . . of Lapel and Hudson, Fla.; one sister, . . . of Noblesville; one brother, . . . seven grandchildren, . . . seven great-grandchildren, . . . stepgrandchildren, . . . and stepgreat-grandchildren, . . ..

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert William; and a grandson, Jason Hensley.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
