GROVER C. IVINS
AGE: 83 SPOTSWOOD

Grover C. Ivins, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Robert Wood University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 83 years old.

Born in Cranbury, he resided in Spotswood for the past 60 years.

Prior to retiring in 1989, he was a stationary engineer for Hercules, Parlin, where he worked for 39 years. He was an honorary member of the Hercules Rod & Gun Club.

Grover was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

Mr. Ivins was a World War II Army veteran, having served from 1945-1948. He also served in the Merchant Marines.

He was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Gertrud Kulawik Ivins; two sons, Richard and his fiancee Jean of Wayland, N.Y., and Timothy Ivins and his wife Barbara of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Ralph Ivins and his wife Thelma of NC; his grandchildren, Christopher, and Eric and his wife Sara, both of Kansas; and great-grandchildren, Ciara and Kyle.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood, under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg.
