Chester T. "Chet" Johnson, 90, of Aurora passed away on Friday, November 2, 2001 at his home. He was born December 11, 1910 in Newark, Illinois to the late John and Carrie (Larson) Johnson.
    Mr. Johnson was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery for more than 50 years. He was employed by the C.B.Q. & Burlington Northern Railroad for over 40 years, retiring in 1975. In retirement, he worked as a clerk in the Jewel Food Stores for 8 years. He was a member of the Tiger Athletic Association, where he worked with the baseball program as player, manager and groundskeeper. Chet was also a member of the Chicago Old Timers Baseball Association and the Retired Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen of America.
    Chet is survived by his son, Cary (Nancy) Johnson of Ann Arbor, Michigan; his sister, Elizabeth Iwert of Arlington Heights, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
    Besides his parents, Chet was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Johnson on February 1, 1987; three brothers, Russell, Edward and Donald Johnson; and two sisters, Lois Anderson and Esther Lykkebak.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Rev. Robert B. Kasperson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2001 from 4 - 8 P.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora.
