Mr. Russell M. Johnson, 93, of Morris, Illinois died Saturday, July 21, 2001 at his home.
    Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at 10:30 AM at the Newark Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Sampson officiating. Burial will be in the West Lisbon Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2001 at the Newark Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall from 4 PM until 8 PM.
    Mr. Johnson was born on June 22, 1908 in Big Grove Township, Kendall County, Illinois and was the son of John and Carrie (Larson) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the West Lisbon Lutheran Church. On May 30, 1930, he married Charlotte Bromeland. Mr. Johnson was a farmer in Newark, Illinois until his retirement and moving to Morris in 1975. He was a member of the Newark Lutheran Church, a member of the Newark School Board for many years, a member of the Civil Air Patrol in the 1940's and he also served on the Kendall County ASCS for nine years.
    He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Morris, Illinois; four children, Ronald (Marge) Johnson of Morris, Illinois, Gene (Liz) Johnson of Newark, Illinois, Jackie Dimmick of Ottawa, Illinois and Wilbur (Sharon) Johnson of Aurora, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Chester T. Johnson of Aurora, Illinois; a sister, Elizabeth Iwert of Arlington Heights, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward Johnson and Donald Johnson; two sisters, Lois Anderson and Esther Lykkebak; a grandson, Michael Johnson; a son-in-law, Robert Dinnick; and a grandson-in-law, Russell Read.
    The Pallbearers will be the following grandsons, Tim Johnson, Tod Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Brent Dinnick, grandsons-in-law, Wayne Johnson, David Toftoy, Denny Kreamalmeyer, John Sudger and grandson, Mark Johnson, who is a Missionary in Paraguay in absentee.
    Memorial gifts may be directed to the Newark Lutheran Church or the donors choice.
