Raymond H. Bisbee, 83, died Oct. 6, 2010, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce. He was born in Conneaut, OH.

He attended Forest Hill High School in East Cleveland, OH. He worked for N&W Railroad (Nickel Plate) as a plumber and Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Co. in Conneaut. He retired from the P&C Dock/U.S. Steel as Maintenance Supervisor and Master Plumber. Between 1951 and 1967, he was a catcher for Triple A Baseball teams sponsored by the Cleveland Indians and Buffalo Bisons. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughters, Roberta Welfringer of Washington and Linda Bisbee of Florida; son, Timothy Bisbee of Florida; brother, Richard Bisbee of Florida; sisters, Alice Hart of Pennsylvania and Marilyn Jennings of Conneaut; niece, Shelia Bisbee O'Toole; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Bisbee; sons, Michael R. Bisbee and Jack J. Laicy; brothers, David, Charles and William; and sister, Beverly Schweirhert.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Marcy's Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH 44030.

Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 9 at Yates Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie. Services will be at Marcy's Funeral Home at a later date. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Kingsville, OH. A guestbook is available at yatesfuneralhome.com
