PEORIA, IL - Dave W. Lowery, 72, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria.
He was born July 11, 1938, in Peoria, Ill., to William Ora and Sarah Amelia (Smith) Lowery. He married Carol Anne Porter on Nov 24, 1989, in Peoria. She died Aug. 10, 2006.
He is survived by six sons, Jeff (Martha), Scott (Connie), Steve (Lovey), Roger, Rodney (Jackie) and Jon; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Diana (Leo) Knott; a brother, Larry; his mother-in law, Marjorie Porter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dave worked at Pabst, UFS and was last employed by EPCHS.
Dave was a member of the B & B Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the geese on his pond. He liked to bowl and participated in the Brothers Tournament for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no formal services. Please join Dave's family for a celebration of life dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Second Baptist Church, 6417 Farmington Road, Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Dave's memory to the Diabetes Foundation of Central Illinois.
